In view of documenting human rights violations, the Aseerat project collects testimonies of former and current female prisoners describing their imprisonment process from the moment of arrest, through the interrogation stage, detention period, life in prison and finally reintegration into the society. Additionally, Aseerat’s field researchers, and counselors gather letters and messages given by families of prisoners to them in either a written or oral form from during house visits and or events held as part of the project. Selected accounts of detention and imprisonment as well as letters from families are published in this section of the website.
